About Me

  

Peter Corbett began his career in Australia.  Working for ad agency DMB&B he became head of production at age 23 and was promoted to the Board at age 28. 

At age 29, Corbett broke away and formed a highly successful independent production company where he launched Australia’s first motion control system and directed government drink-drive spots that won commercial and campaign of the year for FCB.

He then left for NYC and began a production company adding stages, an in-house editorial arm, shooting spots for most of the major agencies, picking up awards on the way for the Martin Agency and Campbell Ewald among many others.  Among the highlights he directed a series of spoof spots for Saturday Night Live including “Schmitts Gay” starring Chris Farley and Adam Sandler

Some of the initiatives Peter created included BeyondThePlayButton that developed several key technologies in online video including, user-customizable videos and mobile-friendly VR. Multiply created a network of key video content creators including the Wayans brothers (What The Funny) to generate content in partnership with brands.

In 1993 Corbett founded Click 3X the first digital studio  (which won facility of the year in its first year), Media Circus, a digital agency and Sound Lounge for audio. He then added Click 3X studios in San Francisco, Atlanta and Los Angeles, integrating the 6 companies under IllusionFusion which employed over 170 full-time artists, producers, developers and managers. In 2001, he bought back Click 3X, and founded digital studio ClickFire Media, audio post company, Heard City and a direct-to-brand agency  Reason2Be and Friendshop, a creative editorial Company.

In 2018 he built a food content agency Too Many Cooks before taking the content creation and launching Bonfire  A thriving postproduction and VFX studio located on 19th Street in Manhattan.

His many awards include 5 Cannes Lions, Clios, AICP and the Crystal Apple Award from the City of New York for services to the film industry.

Some Stats

 Some basic financial stats in this period spanning 2 continents and 40 years

  • Over $600M in total sales for all Companies - the vast majority being in the United States
  • In this period I put together a total of 7 transactions covering capital raises, companies bought and companies sold.  I raised over $40M. 
  • Through this period, I have brought on over 40 different partners and introduced almost all of of them for the first time to the joys (and pain!) of being in business for themselves.
